How we operate

Governance & Management Committee

Glen Innes Preschool Association Inc. is a not-for-profit community based organisation.
The Preschool is governed by a voluntary Management Committe made up of preschool parents and members of the community who are elected by other parents at the Preschool’s Annual General Meeting held in March each year. The members are elected for a twelve month term with the committee meeting monthly to discuss the running of the Preschool. The committee attends to the management of the preschool including setting fees, hiring staff, formulating policy, strategic direction, responding to familiy and community feedback etc. The committee consists of the President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer plus general members.

Management Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of the month (except in school holidays) at the Glen Innes Preschool. Parents may contribute ideas/issues for discussion by contacting the Director or a member of the Committee prior to meetings.

Services that are managed by the community are more able to:

  • make decisions which reflect their community and its culture

  • be well connected to their community

  • be responsive to their community

  • adjust service delivery quickly

  • develop social capital by building connections, relationships and networks for families

  • contribute to the development of capable, healthy communities

Reglatory bodies underwhich we operate:
Our Service complies with the National Quality Framework (NQF) including the National Quality Standard (NQS), the Early Years Learning Framework (or other Approved Framework) and the National Regulations (Education and Care Services National Regulations).

Our Service is regulated by the new national body for early education and care – the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA).

Please get in touch with the Director or a current committee member if you would like to find out more about the Management Committee, we would love to hear from you.

Glen Innes Preschool acknowledges the land of the Ngoorabul people on which we learn and play each day.
We pay our respects to elders past and present and to the young leaders of tomorrow.
